An experienced multi-channel comms all-rounder, Gareth has worked for the last 20 years across corporate and internal communications (public and private sector), content management (digital and print), newspaper journalism and public sector PR. He’s enthusiastic about all aspects of content management and has been hands-on and strategic in journalism, PR, social media, copywriting, SEO, video production and analytics.
After starting out in newspapers at the Scotsman Publications in Edinburgh, Gareth then spent a large part of his career working in healthcare comms, with two stints at the Medical Protection Society and 18 months handling media relations at NHS Lothian. He was also the comms manager for the new care models programme at NHS England.
Gareth now splits his working time between Agenda and Unions 21, where he is engagement manager. He also splits his personal time between raising two feisty kids and ‘unwinding’ to 80s/90s heavy metal and 70s horror films.
