Philippe is a policy specialist and researcher focused on public institutions and the role of government in the UK and Europe. With several years’ experience spanning international organisations including the EU, academia, civil society, and industry, he has worked to further the public understanding of institutions and political systems for the benefit of all.
As a researcher, he has founded and advised numerous institutes and think-tanks in the UK and beyond, working with local government and international organisations on questions of employment, skills, security, and institutional reform. Through his doctoral work he has put a lens up to the effectiveness of institutions when faced with populist and isolationist politics and lectures on the role of the nation state and international security in public life.
He is also a political activist, having campaigned with a number of parties in the UK, Belgium, France, United States, and Ukraine. A frequent political adviser, he also acts as the Secretary and Chair for party policy networks aiming to improve the understanding of complex topics for members and elected representatives.
He has graduated from the EU’s College of Europe, KU Leuven, Panthéon Sorbonne, and University of York and is currently a Doctoral Fellow at the University of Surrey. Philippe is also a humanitarian volunteer active in Ukraine and Eastern Europe.
Philippe loves classical guitar with focus on 19th C Spanish Music including the works of Isaac Albeniz, is a keen target shooter with interest in the ISSF 50m Discipline, and amateur poet and painter with a knack for terrible oil paintings.
