Agenda’s work spans a wide range of social justice and corporate responsibility issues. A consistent theme throughout many of our projects is the bringing together of diverse groups to collaborate on complex challenges. Whether convening grassroots movements, corporate partners or government stakeholders, we regularly undertake the role of facilitator – creating conditions for shared purpose, equity and trust that enable systemic and sustainable change.
A few examples of our facilitation projects
1. Nobel Women’s Initiative – global advocacy on sexual violence in conflict
At the Global Summit to End Sexual Violence in Conflict (2014), we supported the Nobel Women’s Initiative, a coalition of 90 grassroots organisations representing rape survivors from around the world. Our task was to align messaging across the network, centre survivor voices and strengthen advocacy impact through media relations. By building relationships with global media and identifying strong personal stories, we secured nearly 90 interviews across 20 countries, ensuring that real life experiences framed the global conversation and contributed to policy change.
2. Methane abatement in the maritime industry – building common ground in Europe
We currently work with a consortium of energy companies, maritime businesses and technology providers seeking stronger EU policy on methane measurement and abatement. One way in which we are doing this is by broadening their network of influential voices to include trade associations, environmental campaign groups and academics. By creating a balance between corporate interests, political priorities and campaigner demands, we have created a trusted space for dialogue and co-designed messaging that avoids greenwashing.
3. Corporate foundation – global staff engagement
The foundation of a large global retail brand hired us to help them design and deliver a staff engagement campaign across multiple businesses and time zones. By facilitating participation and balancing different priorities, we built a social media campaign that mobilised thousands of employees worldwide. Evaluation showed the campaign strengthened loyalty, pride and engagement across the organisation.
4. NHS Anchors Learning Network – Tackling health inequalities
Commissioned by the Health Foundation and NHS England & Improvement, we co-developed the Health Anchors Learning Network (HALN). Working with Innovation Unit, we led on brand strategy, stakeholder engagement, communications and launch. The network now has over 1,600 participants, 1,500 event attendees and 1,300 resource downloads – creating a thriving space for hospitals and other anchor institutions to learn from each other and collectively address health inequalities.
5. Medical Aid for Palestinians – Strategic communications in crisis
We co-created the Sumud Strategy with Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP). This involved stakeholder engagement across the UK, West Bank, Gaza and Lebanon during one of the most challenging periods in MAP’s 40-year history. Our approach focused on centering Palestinian voices, tackling misinformation and safeguarding the wellbeing of staff and communities. The flexible communications roadmap allows MAP to adapt its comms, advocacy and fundraising campaigns to shifting contexts while maintaining a golden thread of dignity, hope and steadfastness.
Our approach
Across all these projects, our facilitation practice is defined by:
Stakeholder mapping and power analysis – clarifying influence, motivations and barriers.
Equity-centred participation – elevating lived experience and marginalised voices.
Trust-building – mediating tensions, fostering collaboration and ensuring shared ownership.
Shared narrative development – co-creating compelling frames that unify diverse actors.
Adaptive design – responding flexibly to shifting contexts and emerging needs.
Capacity building – strengthening coalition members’ skills in advocacy, communications and collaboration.
Our impact
Through this work, coalitions have shaped international policy debates, from reframing global conversations on important topics such as sexual violence in conflict to advancing climate policy in a way that balances economic needs with environmental priorities. This work has taken place at local, national and international level, and has successfully strengthened networks and relationships and helped unlikely bedfellows align around shared priorities.
Maintaining dignity, integrity and respect is essential and we work hard to ensure the stories we tell do not inadvertently stigmatise or reinforce pejorative stereotypes. We incorporate the insights from our Comms Lab projects into our coalition facilitation so that this knowledge is shared for the benefit of others.
Our campaigns and communications have engaged and mobilised thousands of people, whether employees of a global foundation or health and care professionals in the HALN network.
Together, these experiences show that we know how to bring very different groups together and help them work well with one another. Whether in health, human rights, the environment or tackling poverty, we have created the space for people with different views and priorities to build trust, agree on shared goals and speak with a stronger collective voice to drive lasting change.
