Staying ahead of the curve

If there’s one thing we love at Agenda, it’s a challenge – so this May we’ve been rolling our sleeves up to help various organisations ensure they get their voices heard: a daunting prospect these days!

It’s nearly time (4 June) for Changing hearts and minds! Speaker presentations have landed, breakout groups have been chosen, and we’re really excited for a day of learning and sharing. Follow the conversation via our social channels and #CHM25.

Boosting engagement

How can a trade union with high member density and strong industrial influence boost member engagement? Vic spoke to ASLEF’s annual conference about getting more young and female drivers active.

It’s nice to get out of the office when the sun is shining! Vic went to Brussels to meet Becky for planning, beer and mussels before Vic ran a session for Unions21 on strategic comms, and Becky met with a delegation of Finnish trade union reps to talk lobbying and influencing.

Project work

We’re supporting the pilots’ union, BALPA, with several projects – member newsletters, campaign comms and moving to a new CRM – and Vic went to Heathrow to interview candidates for their comms team.

We’re delighted to work with Centrepoint on messaging for its programmes on ending youth homelessness. We’ve crafted the words and now we’re testing with colleagues; next up, workshops on easy-to-use messages for a range of audiences.

As the government announces investments in new diagnostic and radiotherapy equipment, we’ve continued to help the Society of Radiographers push for more radiographers.

Tree of Hope, the children’s charity, was once again in the headlines thanks to our PR specialist Catherine Cooper. Stories included a ‘Gig in the Garden’ event, two mums tackling a zipwire, a 24-hour darts challenge and a 10k run!

The shifting global context makes comms planning a daunting task, but you can stay ahead of the curve. We’ve supported an international charity with its crisis comms plan on governance, management and reputational risks, plus complex scenarios on disinformation and political upheaval.

We’ve helped seafarers’ union Nautilus International find an agency for its new website. After speaking to members and staff, we’re clear on the requirements and have drafted a ‘request for information’ for agencies interested in the work. Get in touch if you’d like to know more!

Communicating with impact

Helping people become effective communicators is core to our work, so we’re delighted to have taken on more coaching clients. We offer a safe space for people to raise challenges and opportunities, talk through solutions and become more confident in their comms.

Becky and our Brussels partner Mark Watts have been connecting with EU policymakers to help a consortium of innovators and engineers address the climate crisis with their groundbreaking technology.

It’s a tough world out there at the moment. But we’re here to help. To find out how, please drop us a line
