Green energy, infrastructure and child poverty – we've been working on big issues in March, as well as offering our usual comms expertise through digital projects and training courses.
Changing hearts and minds
Georgina Laming, Hope not Hate’s comms and campaigns director, was announced as the first speaker at our Changing hearts and minds event on Weds 4 June. Spotlighting voter motivations and countering harmful narratives, there are only 60 places – grab your ticket now!
Events
Labour’s ambitions for major infrastructure projects and GB Energy were discussed at a New Statesman event where Vic chaired two panels with MPs, peers and key private sector partners.
The UK government’s forthcoming child poverty strategy is the focus of an event on Thurs 3 April that we’re helping to organise for Prospect magazine, Trussell, Save the Children and the Share Alliance. If you’d like to attend, contact Becky.
Projects
It’s been a busy month in aviation, from airport expansions to the Heathrow fire, just two areas where we’ve supported BALPA’s comms. We’re also helping campaign on pilots’ work-life balance and preparing for a landmark hearing on gig economy pilots.
Our PR guru Catherine Cooper hit the headlines with stories of mums and aunts running marathons and a dad and son climbing Mount Snowdon – all for Tree of Hope, a charity which helps families fundraise for children with healthcare needs.
How old is too old when it comes to radiography kit? Adi and Matt helped the Society of Radiographers share its view when Scottish Labour FOI’d the age of Scotland’s diagnostic imaging equipment. SoR’s professional policy lead Charlotte Beardmore’s expert opinion featured across the Scottish press.
What's more satisfying than working hand-in-hand with a client to navigate a multi-layered project? We’ve enjoyed engaging with reps and staff to recommend ways to boost ASLEF’s member engagement – and we’re looking forward to putting the ideas into action soon.
We’ve started work with Nautilus International to replace their website. NI’s branches in the UK, the Netherlands and Switzerland have unique needs, so we’re engaging staff and members before going to tender.
Becky and our Brussels-based partner Mark Watts have been busy helping an environmental tech consortium navigate its way around the EU to advocate for policy changes that will reduce methane emissions.
Writing for impact
We ran a Writing for impact workshop with fundraising, comms and HR folk. It was great to see them developing some strong writing as the workshop progressed. Keep an eye out for courses on PR skills and crisis comms.
From trade wars to actual wars, from welfare cuts to cancelled aid programmes, there’s a lot going on. If you’re concerned about what these shifts mean for your work, please get in touch. We can offer a listening ear and ease your workload.
