The clocks went back and we got an extra hour in October: we’ve put it to good use with another busy month supporting great causes and helping organisations improve their comms strategies.
Every year, Centrepoint helps 16,000 young people find a home, a job and a chance to move forward. Vic has been working with the campaigns team to help create a narrative around their vital work in ending youth homelessness.
Protecting democracy in the UK, reducing methane emissions in Europe, defending Palestinian homes against settler violence, and ensuring the world is pandemic ready: these are some of the knotty issues we’ve been addressing through a variety of brand and narrative projects with teams comprising Becky S, Philippe, Sarah Welsh, Dana, Duncan and Becky A.
Drawing on our strong backgrounds as journalists and press officers, we often run training sessions to upskill senior leaders and comms teams. We’re delighted to be working with a leading social inclusion charity on crisis comms training as well as the Association of Educational Psychologists on engaging politicians and the media.
Our work supporting Nautilus International’s new website saw Vic lead a workshop to map out the union’s member journeys, looking at why, when and how members join, renew and get active.
How to dismantle the patriarchy in fundraising was the focus of an International Fundraising Congress Big Discussion, hosted by Becky and our friend and colleague, Damian Chapman of Fundraiser in the Room.
Our PR champ Catherine Cooper masterminded great coverage for World Villages for Children, whose supporter Caroline Duclert has made a documentary on nuns educating children in poor regions of the world.
Becky, Philippe and colleagues from across UK and European politics attended the Party of European Socialists annual summit to find ways to tackle some of Europe’s most pressing social challenges.
Becky appeared on a panel about the impact of colonialism on European migration policy and media narratives, organised by the European Centre for Populism Studies.
How can AI help unions recruit, retain and engage members? That’s the question Vic and Nick Scott from Unions 21 explored at a webinar with some 65 union colleagues who tried out a survey tool that captures verbal feedback, offering a low-cost, high-reach way to really find out what matters to members.
