Closing a busy summer – and planning a busy autumn

August has been a month of two halves: we’ve caught up with colleagues, refined new offers for clients and plotted our autumn schedule, while also helping clients manage reputations and influence change.

From big geopolitical events to inadequate government policy through to internal HR issues, we’ve been helping clients navigate their way through some thorny and complex challenges.

Working across many locations has its perks but we still love to get together. Becky and Vic enjoyed a day in London while Vic and Gareth met up in Yorkshire.

We’re keeping the Society of Radiographers in the headlines with two stories this month: the first on supporting neurodivergent people to navigate the NHS, and the second reminding the government that community diagnostic centres, while very welcome, rely on having enough staff to function fully.

All change at BALPA as the airline pilots’ union welcomes new communications officers. We're continuing to provide support with Naomi on press, PR and campaigns; Matt on member engagement; Duncan on CRM and digital; and Bec and colleagues on newsletters.

Our PR expert Catherine Cooper has once again landed widespread coverage for Tree of Hope’s fundraising support initiatives, this time for three families whose children are living with a range of complex health conditions.

It’s nearly party conference season so Becky and Vic are preparing for their trip to Liverpool to chair panels and host roundtables on behalf of New Statesman at the Labour Party conference. Drop us a line if you’d like to meet up!

Sharing expertise with others is something we do regularly. Becky recently held a PR skills workshop, and has been busy prepping two sessions for September: one on Crisis Comms and the other on Great Fundraising Organisations with our friend, Alan Clayton.
